Where we seek comfort is unique to the individual. This project investigates the concept of comfort as it manifests itself through our physical and ecological surroundings. This research investigates why certain locations might elicit a sense of comfort, as well as investigating the concept of the uncomfortable and the psychological reaction that it evokes. This work takes you on a journey through our comforts and discomforts.
A lettering series has been created to emulate our comfort places, while a publication investigates the physicality of these places and contrasts them with discomfort in our surroundings.
This project also delves into the uncomfortable realm of what happens when our comforts meet our discomforts through satirical identity design, which seeks to disguise the true nature of the contents to reveal the user's self destructive traits through deceptive design. This piece also explores the theme of toxic positivity and exposes the uncomfortableness of it.
