My practice involves a simple process of digital image collecting, which I collage together by use of Photoshop. My work is not driven by a concrete theme, however each painted outcome stands alone in its own right and is anchored contextually, using either familiar pop culture references, references to history, or to personal experience.
My aim is to create amusing and absurd visual landscapes that a viewer can pick apart and interpret for themselves through their understanding of each visual reference. Whether a reference is a pop-culture figure, a product logo, or a Getty images watermark, my use of the recognisable is not an homage or endorsement, but rather it is chosen for its ability to connect with its audience.
I use pre-existing material and content from the Internet which I remix and transform to create my work. This process captures a piece of the past or of the original to create something new.
