Seeing the Unseen
'Making the Unseen Seen' is a body of work giving dimension to the things that are beyond us, visualising the subconscious, and making space to explore the limitations of our senses and what lies beyond.
As humans we can only see 0.0035% of the electromagnetic spectrum. This project explores what we might be missing, the "unseen". For two of the project outcomes, focus was placed on psychological aspects of myself which I have called "demons" for the most part, with the third outcome looking at the subconscious generally and peoples’ perceptions of it.
The three outcomes explore different ways to visually communicate the "unseen", while looking at the effects of contrasting spaces between the creator, the artwork and the viewer. 'Making the Unseen Seen' challenges the audience to question their own reality. Just because we can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there!
